"So engaging. Wonderful to tell history through individual stories."— Hiding in Plain Sight? Reconsidering Native Histories Along the Kwinitekw (Connecticut River)American Comedy and the Marx Brothers
$0.00 – $10.00
How does one grapple with the past? Many younger Americans have never heard of the Marx Brothers, whose heyday was in the 1930s and 1940s. Understanding begins with decoding the politics, social norms and personalities targeted in their humor. Much of the Marx Brothers’ humor is politically incorrect by today’s standards. Robert E. Weir will lead an interactive presentation that places the Marx Brothers within a historical context and discusses strategies for dealing with controversial subjects.
