This session provides an introduction to Reiki, a healing technique that uses energy that is around us—reducing stress, anxiety and encouraging healing. Reiki is a universal energy or life force that exists in and around our bodies. During a treatment, the practitioner channels the flow of this energy through their hands so healing can take place. Learn the history of Reiki and how Reiki and Chakras can serve you. Workshop features a sitting Reiki demonstration and time for questions and open discussion. Come experience Reiki it for yourself!
About the Presenter
Barbara Carlton became a certified Reiki healer and teacher in 1998 and has been dedicated to the practice ever since. Based in Rochester, New York, she founded her own center, where she taught numerous students, led support groups, and participated in health fairs and events at Brockport College and local hospitals.
Trained in the Usui system of Reiki by Elspeth Walker in Edinburgh, Scotland, Barbara is the 6th in lineage to Mikao Usui. She later studied with Walid Ghoneim of Egypt and worked closely with Gopal Shrestha, a healer from Kathmandu, Nepal, who joined her center for nine months in 2007. Barbara also collaborated for over 20 years with Dr. Brian Dailey, a prominent emergency physician, contributing to community and hospital events in Rochester.
