"Mandala" comes from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit. Loosely translated it means "circle"—a mandala, however, is far more than a simple shape. It represents wholeness and can be seen as a model for the organizational structure of life itself. You will make your own mandala through a guided meditation and creative visualization, accompanied by music, followed by discussion.

About the Presenter

Ronit Ben-Shir is an educator who grew up in Israel and whose path as an educator began during Army service. She received a B.A. in Art History and Education from Haifa University in Israel and M.A. from Hebrew College in Newton.

“What I live by as an educator is making an impact in your journeys. My mission is to build relationships, experiences, and intentional environments with you by acting as guides and mentors, asking questions about values, intents, and practices. Hand-in-hand with my values, I have been inspired by many great educators which value rich wonder and knowledge. My mission is to bring passion, values, knowledge and experience to you. In the words of Jean Piaget, ‘The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities to invent and discover, to create people who are capable of doing new things.'”
