Mary Prudence Wells Smith (1840–1920) was a novelist, Connecticut Valley historian, feminist, Historical Society of Greenfield founder and cookbook author. Moore will provide an intimate portrait of how Wells Smith drew on her relationships with family and friends, knowledge of domestic food production and familiarity with the pleasures of the table to create authentic historical flavors in her fiction.
