Mindfulness helps us cultivate wise attention, being more purposeful and less reactive to the constantly changing conditions in life. Meditation strengthens the mind’s ability to self-regulate, refocus and rewire. It’s not about clearing the mind of thoughts but, instead, getting to know what’s there and even making friends with it. Life is certainly changing right now and it can feel difficult to be steady. Mindfulness and meditation are deep supports that helps us to step back, know more, regroup, and decide. And don’t worry, it’s not all about sitting—it’s about engaging.

In this six-week introductory program, both formal and informal mindfulness and meditation practices will be shared, helping you to gain comfort, capacity, and integration of positive potentials into your daily living. Each week builds upon the other, especially the first week, so please note your calendars. Let’s have fun exploring ourselves with lots of curiosity, kindness and heart in a judgment-free zone!

Shanti Douglas is a Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, and HeartMath® Certified Trainer and Coach, corporate trainer and the owner of 8 Limbs Holistic Health. She’s authored Everyday Ease: Mindfully Moving From Burnout To Balance and is an MBSP (Mindfulness-Based Strengths Practice) practitioner. For over two decades her mission has been to empower others to have greater confidence and ease as they navigate their way through stressful times, to help them recognize their strengths with joy, and to create a life fulfilled. She recently moved to Greenfield and is excited to offer these wonderful practices to her new community.
