This 8-week class will be a deep dive into drawing the human portrait. You’ll learn how to get out of your left brain and into your right brain in order to draw the face you really see in front of you. By seeing accurately, you’ll be able to capture a likeness. We’ll use (and review) everything we’ve learned in "Drawing for Everyone" and "Continuing Drawing" as well as portrait-specific techniques. We’ll be working with one another as models and may call in a friend or two to sit for us as well. You will have the option towards the end of the class to work from photos as well and complete a portrait you’ve been wanting to draw. This class would be a great companion to one of the Thursday drawing classes–everything we do in both classes will reinforce your overall learning.
This class is best for people with at least some experience with observation drawing.
