Drawing is a wonderful way to connect with the world and bring calm and focus to the mind. This 8-week class will focus on drawing the landscape. With just a few simple tools, we can enjoy being in nature and creating a record of our experience. We will work with seeing and depicting lights and darks, simplifying the landscape, mark-making for texture and expressivity, and simple perspective. We will also study master drawings for inspiration and ideas about technique. For students who have taken Hannah Harvester’s Drawing for Everyone course or newcomers with some drawing experience (this class is not for absolute beginners). We will work mainly in pencil.
