HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Education
$450.00
265 Greenfield Road, South Deerfield
This class is designed for the birthing person between 16-35 weeks pregnant and the birth partner or birth companion.
Hypnobirthing® International Childbirth Education is a recognized worldwide leading program in childbirth education and preparation. This state of the art curriculum of in-depth evidence based content on pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum time changes lives. Birth really matters.
Hypnobirthing® teaches self hypnosis, breathwork, visualizations, and affirmations for releasing fear and building trust in your body's innate wisdom and ability to birth instinctually. Over the 5 class series you will learn and practice in class and at home, with your partner, using information, materials, tools, and readings that are all provided. During the class you will find what works best for you and practice it right up until you give birth to your baby. You will call on your body's own natural relaxant for lessening or eliminating the need for medication. You and your partner will learn ways to work with providers, who you want as part of your birth team, and create your birth plan together.
Understanding how to influence the mind-body relationship not only supports you in pregnancy and birth, but in all aspects of life, postpartum care, and parenting. HypnoBirthing classes can deepen the family relationship, heal old wounds, and bring the family closer together. Peaceful births create a peaceful world.

Liz Scheffey became a HypnoBirthing Childbirth Educator in 2023 to help prepare and empower families to bring their children into the world with a calm, empowered birth experience, changing the world one birth at a time. She is also a practitioner of Reiki, Bach flower remedies and hypnosis. As an educator of youth in public and private schools, afterschool programs and summer camps, Liz seeks to find the interconnectedness among things, and to interweave it into her life long learning and the learning of others. She has a bachelor’s degree in environmental education from University Without Walls, and a master’s in education from UMass-Amherst. Her associate degree in early childhood education was received through Greenfield Community College. She believes the beginnings we each experience have profound and lasting effects on our entire life, creating individual journeys that inevitably require healing, inquiry, and celebration. Liz says, “Personal growth is the exploration of our wholeness and our timelessness. It is a healing path to be done in community as well as alone. Healing has many faces, and is connected to a vibrant, healthy family and community life.”
