Armored mud balls, sedimentary structures preserved in the geologic record are extremely rare.  Greenfield Community College has the world's best collection from Jurassic time, 200 million years ago.  What are these amusingly named and photogenic geologic features?  Why are they so rare and why does GCC have them?  Find out the scientific facts and the stories behind the science in this presentation by GCC Prof. Emeritus, Richard Little, the discoverer of the "JAMBs" in Franklin County.

Presented By...

Educator and armored mud ball evangelist Richard Little has BA and MA degrees from Clark University and the University of Southern California, respectively, and is Professor Emeritus at GCC where he taught geology for over 40 years. He has written two books and produced two DVDs about Connecticut Valley geology and continues to lecture and host educational geological tours around the world.
