Join the WaitlistSarah Michel—Sarah the Fiddler—will display her passion for music by performing songs influenced by Old Time, Irish, World and Classical music. Michel will treat her audience to fiddle music from a wide variety of genres that include old-time sing-alongs, lively polkas and rousing reels. Although Michel has performed with numerous orchestras, bands, and theater groups, she will entertain the symposium audience with a solo, high-energy show that features her unique style and sound and is guaranteed to delight.
Sarah Michel began her musical journey at the age of 4 when she started violin lessons using the Suzuki Method. By the age of 6, she was introduced to fiddle music and began competing in fiddle contests all over New England. She won hundreds of competitions as was known as “the girl with the little red hat.” Her fiddle was given to her by New England fiddler Willie “Uncle Willie” Lapman and carries a history of over 200 years of song.
